Clinical Rotations with Felician’s ABSN
Clinicals are a vital part of your nursing education, providing you the opportunity to step into the field and experience the day-to-day work of professional nurses. ABSN clinical rotations also give you the opportunity to experience different areas of nursing and get a feel for what specialties may be right for you. You’ll be afforded networking opportunities, learn to use state-of-the-art medical equipment and hone your real-world healthcare skills.
In partnership with Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey’s leading non-profit health networks, as well as other leading hospitals and healthcare providers in the area, you’ll be placed in a variety of clinical settings specifically chosen to build on what you’ve learned in both your coursework and labs.
What to Expect in Clinical Rotations
Clinical rotations provide students with real-world exposure to working in a healthcare environment. This is the point in your education where everything you have learned in coursework, nursing simulation and skills labs comes together as you provide direct patient care.
During ABSN clinical rotations, you’ll work directly with doctors and nurses to care for patients, while under the watchful eye of clinical instructors devoted to helping you safely transition out of the practice realm and into the field.
Through clinical rotations, you will learn to:
- Provide high-quality patient care for a variety of medical conditions.
- Clearly communicate with patients, family members, and caregivers.
- Advocate for patients’ physical and mental needs.
- Work and collaborate with members of the healthcare team.
- Manage and prioritize multiple patients’ needs and tasks.
Over the course of our program, you’ll participate in clinical rotation hours in several practice areas, including:
- Adult Health
- Maternal - Newborn
- Mental Health
- Pediatrics
- Long-term Care
- Population and Community Health
ABSN clinical rotations don’t just give you real-life practice, either. Through our accelerated nursing clinicals, you’ll network with and learn from a variety of healthcare professionals, as well as gain new insights into the nursing and medical professions.
