Nursing Clinical Rotations with Felician’s ABSN
Nursing clinical rotations are a vital part of your education. They allow you to step into the field and experience the day-to-day work of professional nurses. ABSN clinical rotations also expose you to different areas of nursing, state-of-the-art medical equipment, real-world healthcare skills, and networking opportunities.
In partnership with one of New Jersey’s leading non-profit health networks, Atlantic Health System, and other leading healthcare providers in the area, you’ll be placed in a variety of clinical settings that will build on what you’ve learned in your coursework and labs.
What to Expect in Nursing Clinical Rotations
Nursing clinical rotations provide students with real-world exposure to working in a healthcare environment. This is the point in your education where everything you have learned in coursework and nursing simulation and skills labs comes together.
During nursing clinical rotations, you’ll work directly with doctors and nurses to care for patients, while under the watchful eye of clinical instructors devoted to helping you safely transition out of the practice realm and into the field.
Through nursing clinical rotations, you will learn to:
- Provide high-quality patient care for a variety of medical conditions.
- Clearly communicate with patients, family members, and caregivers.
- Advocate for patients’ physical and mental needs.
- Work and collaborate with members of the healthcare team.
- Manage and prioritize multiple patients’ needs and tasks.
Over the course of our program, you’ll participate in clinical rotation hours in several practice areas, including:
- Adult Health
- Maternal-Newborn
- Mental Health
- Pediatrics
- Long-term Care
- Population and Community Health
